A lot of what we do, in creative terms at least, relies largely on an interplay between just two things. Words and pictures. Sometimes the pictures and words can be animated, but there's a simple beauty in creative that uses only these elements in their purest form. This series of ads for the Samaritans by Mullen Lowe fits that bill and shows a level of creative control that's beyond surgical. Words and pictures. Imagination and intelligence. Precision and impact. So good, it should be weaponised. 🙌
The humble hashtag #. Not so long ago it seemed resigned to becoming one of those unused keyboard keys, just like | and \ and ^. Rarely touched by human digits and even then only by code and excel enthusiasts... but lo, social media was created and our Humble Hashtag became an overnight sensation. No longer just a means to obfuscate sensitive info, oh no, arise Hashtag The Hero! And Hashtag The Unique Identifier, Hashtag The Segmentor and Hashtag The Campaign Strapline. That little guy got real busy, real quick, but please, as this article suggests, let's use it responsibly. FYI, hashtag is a bugger to type quickly. Try it.
Which social media management platform do you use? They all boast similar features but also vary wildly in price and reliability. Having shopped around and road tested a fair few, our preferred choice continues to be Hootsuite. Partly because the platform is as good as any for our small-agency-managing-multiple-client- social-accounts requirement, but also because they now frequently share the insights of their wider community. This being the case here, with their social media trends for 2022 report, which has been collated from 18,000 professionals, all at the coal face.
Chelsea tractor drivers beware, Foka Wolf; the urban artist, the poster prankster, the Brummy Banksy - has been hitting the high streets of Manchester and his latest piece is a slice of targeted renegade marketing aimed squarely at you. Now, we couldn't comment on whether 4x4 drivers are being rightly or wrongly addressed here, it's somewhat assumptive, but let's just say, as with most of Foka's output, it did cause us to raise a wry smile.
