Week 36 — 16 Sep 2022

Before we start, let's make one thing clear, we love all our clients and hopefully they love us too. But there is always room for improvement in any partnership, and if you say your relationship is perfect, then you're probably lying (unless you're Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively and then you'd be right). For the rest of us, relationship management company Aprais has helpfully set out the best behaviours of both agencies and clients using data from the last 20 years of evaluation. Spoiler alert...it turns out competency is overrated!

It's time to get social again ➜

If you've embraced home working and are ready never to set foot inside the office again, take a moment to consider how this affects the relationships you have with your colleagues. OK, so you might not miss seeing Barbara's holiday pics or listening to Steve argue with his girlfriend on the phone every day, but effective and collaborative teams are surely the lifeblood of a successful business? We're a social species; it's scientifically proven that our wellbeing depends on being around other people and the relationships we nurture have a huge impact on our health. Is sitting alone, working at home harming more than just our work flow?

Working on your self-care? Read this ➜

Whether we make time to do it or not, we all know that looking after yourself should be top of your 'to do' list. 8 hours of sleep a night, 5 portions of fruit and veg a day and 150 minutes of exercise a week – the rules are full of numbers we should be aiming for. So you'll be pleased (or not) to know that we've discovered another one – did you know that you need 7 different types of rest? Did you know 7 different types of rest even existed? Sorry, lying on the sofa completing Netflix isn't one of them.

Shhhhh, I quit ➜

Post pandemic life was a lot; sadly folding away our elasticated pants, dragging ourselves out of bed earlier and navigating other people on public transport. Hence the 'great resignation', where employers saw a huge increase in people re-evaluating their lives and looking for a more meaningful existence. Fast forward a year and it seems those who didn't seek out life on a remote island are still searching for the ever elusive work/life balance – enter 'quiet quitting'. Whilst not as sneaky as it sounds or involving people tiptoeing out of the office never to be seen again, employees are starting to take a stand against unreasonable expectations. At first glance, it could be considered the epitome of laziness to some employers but when you stop to think, who wants their staff burnt out and frazzled?

People are needy, fact ➜

What do we want? Everything. When do we want it? Now! Never before have your customers or clients had so much choice and so little time to spend, so exactly how do you make sure that your clients and customers stay loyal to you? 66% of customers expect companies to understand their needs and expectations, so it's time to start doing your homework and investing in top class customer service. Luckily, it's 2022 and there are now loads of ways we can meet customer's high standards. Like we said, needy 🙄
